Our general goal is to diagnose the conservation status manatees in Cuba through the identification of threats to the species, estimation of demographic and genetic parameters and determination of critical habitats. Likewise, our aim is to promote the conservation and protection of this species through scientific training, environmental education, community-based initiatives, and inter-agency, national and international collaboration
