Goal: Describe ecological and genetic aspects of the Antillean manatee (Trichechus manatus) in Cuba. Provide recommendations for the management of manatee populations in marine protected areas. Describe the threats of the species and provide recommendations for its control and mitigation. Increase theoretical and practical knowledge to respond to marine mammal mortality events. Improve the monitoring methodologies proposed for the country.
