This line of research focuses on soil evaluation and the sustainability of organic production establishment of reference values of heavy metals in soils in the state of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and in the tobacco areas of Pinar del Río (Cuba). A second approach is the strengthening of agro-environmental policies in countries of Latin America and the Caribbean through dialogue and exchange of national experiences. The impact on the seabed of activities carried out on the mainland that generate heavy metals and other pollutants will be evaluated.
